Shenzhen Forbest produces FEP Heat Shrink Pipe for applications where common polyolefin tubing fails. This fluoropolymer material handles continuous temperatures from -65°C up to 200°C, resists almost all chemicals, and shrinks at a 1.3:1 ,1.6:1   ratio when heated above +150°C. The transparent version allows visual inspection of soldered joints or wire splices without peeling off the tubing. Common users include medical device assemblers, aerospace wiring technicians, and semiconductor cleanroom operators.

Forbest’s transparent FEP heat shrink pipe looks like glass. You can see through it clearly even after shrinking. This is useful for quality control – inspectors can check solder joints, crimps, or corrosion without cutting the tubing off.

The second thing is chemical resistance. FEP stands up to acids, bases, solvents, fuels, and hydraulic fluids. Polyolefin swells or cracks in many of these environments. FEP does nothing. Wipe it off and it looks like new.

The third thing is temperature range. FEP runs continuously from -65°C to 200°C. Polyolefin typically tops out at 125°C. For applications near engines, ovens, steam lines, or high-power electronics, that extra 75°C matters.

FEP  Heat shrink Pipe  Applications

Medical device manufacturers use Forbest’s FEP heat shrink pipe on catheters and surgical tools. They need tubing that survives repeated sterilization – autoclave, EtO, gamma radiation – without cracking or releasing particles. FEP passes these tests.

Aerospace repair shops use it for wire bundling and connector backshell sealing. Jet fuel and hydraulic fluid destroy ordinary tubing within weeks. FEP lasts for years. Some of these customers have been buying from Forbest for over five years because they know the factory delivers consistent quality.

Semiconductor cleanrooms use transparent FEP tubing to protect sensors and wiring in wet etch stations. The chemicals involved – HF, H2SO4, NH4OH – attack almost everything. FEP shrugs them off. The transparency lets technicians see if liquid has leaked inside without taking the system apart.

Chemical plants use Forbest’s FEP heat shrink to repair pH probes and thermocouple leads. Instead of replacing an expensive sensor because the cable jacket failed, they slide a piece of FEP tubing over the damaged area and shrink it. The repair often outlasts the original.

FEP heat shrink pipe in inside diameters from 1.0mm to  260mm before shrinkage. Standard wall thickness is 0.2mm to 0.5mm depending on diameter. Custom sizes are available if you need something outside this range.

The standard color is transparent. Black FEP is also available for applications that need UV protection or simply look cleaner in finished products. Forbest does not charge extra for black – it is the same price as transparent.

If you need adhesive-lined FEP for moisture sealing, ask about the custom option. The inner melt layer flows when heated and seals against wires or connectors. This is not a stock item but Forbest can make it with a 3-4 week lead time.

Common Questions

Can FEP heat shrink be used outdoors?
Yes. FEP has excellent UV resistance. Twenty years in direct sunlight will not break it down.

Does it stick to the component?
Standard FEP does not have adhesive. It shrinks tightly around the component but does not glue itself on. If you need a sealed bond, choose the adhesive-lined version.

What is the shelf life?
Stored away from UV and ozone, FEP heat shrink lasts five years or more. The material does not age like rubber or polyolefin.
